Park Day on Daniel Island, South Carolina
Now in its eighth year, Park Day has become one of South Carolina Lowcountry’s best ways to spend a Saturday in the fall. This year’s event on October 11 is expected to attract some 10,000 festival goers to Daniel Island, a 4,000-acre master planned community across the Wando River from historic Charleston. Combining opportunites to support the needs of the region with live entertainment, games, and Lowcountry fare including the region’s famous oyster roasts, the day of giving has become a Charleston favorite. In 2007 Park Day raised more than $45,000 for beneficiaries, including the local food bank, Habitat for Humanity, and several pet rescue organizations. World’s Largest Golf Club Donates More than $3 Million to China’s Earthquake Victims
